Delhi court allows more evidence on Sonia Gandhi voter list
India
A Delhi court just said yes to bringing in more evidence about whether Congress MP Sonia Gandhi was on the voter list before she officially became an Indian citizen.
The case centers on claims that her name showed up on New Delhi's electoral rolls back in 1980, even though she only got citizenship in 1983.
The next hearing is set for November 18.
Vikas Tripathi alleges pre citizenship entries
Advocate Vikas Tripathi says Gandhi's name was added to the voter list before she was a citizen, then removed in 1982, and reinstated in 1983, also before she became an Indian citizen.
This year, a sessions court criticized an earlier judge for not looking closely enough at the evidence and reminded everyone that only citizens belong on voter rolls.
