Delhi enforces fuel ban on overage vehicles from July 1
Starting July 1, Delhi will stop fuel stations from refilling diesel vehicles over 10 years old and petrol vehicles over 15 years old, no matter where they're registered.
This move is part of a bigger push to cut down on air pollution by phasing out older, more polluting cars.
How the new rule will be implemented
Fuel pumps across the city will have signs up and use cameras linked to a national database to spot non-compliant vehicles in real time.
If you try to fill up an older car, staff can refuse service and log the attempt.
Enforcement teams are set to check compliance, with fines for rule-breakers.
