Delhi imposes annual ban on non-Delhi registered vehicles lacking BS-VI
India
Delhi is rolling out a yearly ban on non-Delhi registered vehicles that don't meet BS-VI emission standards, starting November 1 through January 31.
This mainly affects commercial trucks and busses, but if your ride runs on CNG or electricity, you're in the clear.
The idea is to help clean up Delhi's air during those months when pollution usually spikes.
Officials stationed at DND, Rajokri
About 250 officials will be stationed at major entry points like DND and Rajokri-NH 48 to enforce the rule.
The timing lines up with Diwali celebrations, vehicular emissions, and stubble burning, three big reasons Delhi's air gets worse every winter.
