Delhi LG Taranjit Singh Sandhu calls for POCSO compliance audit
India
Delhi's lieutenant governor, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, has called for a full safety audit of all government and private schools to make sure they're following child protection laws (POCSO Act).
At a meeting with top officials on June 16, he pushed for strict checks, like staff background screenings, regular student awareness sessions, and active child protection committees in every school.
Delhi to observe Child Protection month
To step things up, July will be "Child Protection" month across Delhi. This means more awareness campaigns and mandatory training for everyone involved with schools.
Plus, expect to see more police around school gates during dismissal time.
Sandhu wants a full report on how these changes play out.
