Delhi-NCR: Air quality tanks, AQI soars to 461

India

Delhi woke up to seriously bad air on Sunday, with the AQI hitting a severe 461—up from 431 just a day before.
Every monitoring station across Delhi and most in the NCR flagged hazardous pollution, making it tough to ignore.

What's going on?

Hotspots like Rohini and Bawana nearly maxed out the AQI scale at around 499.
Nearby cities—Noida, Ghaziabad, and Greater Noida—weren't spared either.
The main culprits? Mostly vehicles (14.2% of PM2.5 pollution), plus some industry and stagnant weather that trapped all the smog.

Why does it matter?

The thick smog isn't just an eyesore—it's slowing down traffic and even messing with flights at Delhi Airport due to low visibility.
Social media is buzzing with clips of "zero bilisibity," but for real: breathing this air isn't great for anyone's health or daily plans.
