Delhi-NCR hits emergency pollution levels—Stage 4 rules kick in
Delhi-NCR's air just hit crisis mode, with the AQI soaring to 448 and some spots nearly maxing out the charts.
In response, authorities have triggered Stage 4 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), rolling out strict new rules to tackle the smog.
What's changing on the ground?
Only trucks running on CNG, LNG, electricity, or BS-VI diesel—and those carrying essentials—can enter Delhi now.
Older diesel vehicles are out.
Schools for classes VI-IX and XI are moving to hybrid learning, and if things get worse, colleges and non-essential businesses could close too.
Odd-even car days might also return.
Heads up: follow the new rules or pay up
Everyone in Delhi-NCR needs to stick to these restrictions—ignoring them could mean fines up to ₹20,000.
These measures stay until air quality improves and officials lift them.
Stay safe and keep an eye on updates!
