Delhi-NCR schools go online as pollution hits severe levels

With air quality in Delhi-NCR turning hazardous, physical classes for Nursery to Class 5 have been suspended as of December 17.
The government's move follows a strict pollution control order—so, for now, younger students will be learning from home.

Why is this happening?

Pollution levels are so high that being outside isn't safe, especially for kids. Schools in Gurugram and Noida are also switching to online classes for younger grades.
Health experts warn the current smog can cause breathing trouble and sore throats.
