Delhi Police arrested 916 people in 2-day 'CyHawk 5.0' operation
Delhi Police just wrapped up "CyHawk 5.0," a massive crackdown on cybercrime that saw 916 people arrested across 21 states and union territories.
Over two days, 2,374 personnel teamed up from different police units to track down suspects.
The operation also helped recover stolen money for victims and highlighted just how big the cyber-fraud problem has become.
Scams linked to about ₹700cr busted
Along with the arrests, police registered 481 new cases and resolved 410 previous cases against individuals linked to active cyber fraud complaints on the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCRP) solved.
They seized over 760 mobile phones, 820 SIM cards, 228 ATM cards, Aadhaar cards, and even a Mahindra Thar Roxx!
The scams busted were linked to about ₹700 crore in fraud. Police hope this sends a strong message to anyone thinking about trying their luck online.
