India
Delhi Police just raided a secret unit in Bamnoli village that was repackaging expired snacks and soft drinks with fake expiration dates.
The team found thousands of tampered products (think popular biscuits and sodas) made to look fresh using chemicals and a printing machine.
Kamal Mudgil arrested with 2 others
The operation was led by Kamal Mudgil, 56, who was arrested along with two others.
Police seized more than 3,000 altered soft drink cans plus the tools used for faking labels.
Food safety officials confirmed the labels were forged and are now tracing where these expired goods came from, aiming to identify suppliers and the distribution network.
