Delhi pollution: Ramdev calls air purifiers 'rich people's fad'

India

Delhi's air is at crisis levels again, and yoga guru Ramdev isn't sold on high-tech fixes.
On TV, he called air purifiers "ameeron ka chonchla" — 'a fad of the rich' and suggested people use curtains and practice Kapalbhati breathing exercises indoors instead.
His comments come as authorities ramp up anti-pollution measures across Delhi-NCR.

What experts recommend

Meanwhile, Delhi cardiologist Alok Chopra has a more practical take—he advises using indoor plants, humidifiers, and air purifiers to help with the bad air.
He also recommends wearing N95 masks outside and keeping kids and older folks indoors when pollution peaks.
