Delhi suffers intense heatwave; Punjab on red alert
Delhi is in the middle of an intense heatwave, with temperatures soaring up to 45°C and a heat index near 52°C. The IMD has issued a red alert for "life-threatening" conditions until June 13, as humidity and extreme heat push the city well above normal summer levels.
Heat can affect your health
This kind of heat isn't just uncomfortable—it can seriously affect your health, especially if you're older or very young. The IMD is urging everyone to stay hydrated and avoid going out during peak sun hours. Power and water usage are way up too, putting extra pressure on city resources.
Relief on the way
There's some good news: light rain, thunderstorms, and cooler winds are expected from Thursday onward. Temperatures could finally dip below 40°C by next week, so hang in there—cooler days are coming soon.
