Delhi tops PM2.5 pollution levels in India: Report

India

Delhi has just been ranked the most polluted city in India, with PM2.5 levels averaging 101 micrograms per cubic meter—way above what's considered safe by both Indian and WHO standards.
This comes from a new CREA study covering March 2024 to February 2025, highlighting just how serious Delhi's air quality problem is.

Other regions are struggling too

It's not just Delhi—Chandigarh and Haryana are also facing high pollution, with PM2.5 levels at 70 and 63.
The report points out that nearly 60% of India's districts have air quality worse than the national limit, showing that this is a widespread issue across the country.
