DGCA limits flight duty relaxation to IndiGo's A320 fleet
India
India's aviation regulator, DGCA, has given IndiGo a temporary break from some pilot work-hour rules—but only for its A320 planes.
This quick fix comes after over 2,000 IndiGo flights were canceled in just four days, leaving travelers stranded and frustrated.
The core safety rules around pilot hours and rest still apply to everyone.
Why does this matter for flyers?
IndiGo is scrambling to get things back on track—cancellations dropped to about 800 flights on December 6 from over 1,000 the day before.
The airline says it's working hard on refunds.
Meanwhile, the government stepped in: all refunds must be done by December 7 evening, rescheduling fees are waived for affected passengers, and lost bags should be returned within two days.
