Dr. Divya V, a 26-year-old senior resident at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, was found dead in her rented apartment on Tuesday. Police said it appeared to be a suicide.
Her roommate returned home to find the door locked and knocked on the door several times and made repeated calls when there was no response.
Officers entered and discovered Dr. Divya had died by hanging; a suicide note was found in her room.
AIIMS autopsy complete, police probe note
Dr. Divya had recently taken leave due to health issues. After the autopsy at AIIMS, her body was given to her family.
Police are investigating, focusing on the note at the scene.
