ED summons Karnataka Deputy CM in fraud case

India

Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar and his brother D K Suresh have been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a cheating and money laundering case.
The case centers on Aishwarya Gowda, who was arrested for allegedly scamming people by pretending to be connected to powerful politicians—including claiming to be Suresh's sister—and promising big returns on fake investments.

Suresh to appear before ED on June 19

Suresh is set to appear before the ED on June 19. He says he never had any financial dealings with Gowda and has already filed a police complaint about his name being misused.
Meanwhile, Karnataka's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has called the ED's move a "political vendetta," accusing the central government of targeting opposition leaders.
The investigation is still underway, with both legal and political drama unfolding in the state.
