Enhanced security measures for Amarnath Yatra

The Shri Amarnath Yatra kicks off July 3. Jammu and Kashmir's Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has already led the flag-off for the first batch of pilgrims.
After a recent attack in Pahalgam, authorities have seriously stepped up security along the Jammu-Srinagar highway.
Pilgrims will travel via both Baltal and Pahalgam routes this year.

Several layers of security now in place

To keep things safe after the recent Pahalgam attack, CRPF has rolled out K-9 dog squads and facial recognition systems along key routes.
Inspector General VK Birdi shared that several layers of security—including practice drills—are now in place to help ensure a smooth and secure journey for everyone making the pilgrimage.
