'Everyone is selfish': Distress revealed in Lucknow family suicide note
A family of three in Lucknow—Shobhit Rastogi, his wife Suchita, and their teenage daughter Khyati—died by suicide after struggling with serious debt and personal disputes.
The tragedy came to light when Khyati called her aunt for help, leading relatives to break into their locked home.
Despite being rushed to the hospital, all three were declared dead on arrival.
Note found at scene; relatives accused
Police found a note at the scene, reportedly describing debts of ₹45-50 lakh (including ₹20 lakh owed to private lenders) and feeling isolated by family conflicts.
The note read: "No one helps. Everyone is selfish."
An FIR has been filed against Suchita's sister, Mudita, and her brother-in-law, Vivek Siddharth, for allegedly misusing ₹40 lakh lent for a land deal.
Neighbors also mentioned repeated visits from aggressive loan recovery agents before and even after the family's deaths, as police continue their investigation.
