'Fake' doctor, drugged water, rape: Tragic story of Odisha girl
In Ganjam, Odisha, a 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped by Babani Shankar Das, who posed as a homeopathy doctor at the Vajpayee Arogyadam clinic.
The girl's family trusted Das after an Anganwadi worker introduced him and promised free nursing education and accommodation.
When the girl arrived at the clinic on June 23, Das's assistant reportedly gave her drugged water; despite feeling weak, she stayed conscious while Das assaulted her.

The girl managed to escape and reported what happened to the police.
Das was arrested under child protection laws, along with his assistant and the Anganwadi worker who introduced him.
Authorities confirmed that Das's medical credentials were fake and are still gathering evidence from both the clinic and his home to ensure everyone involved is held accountable.
