First urea ship sails to India after West Asia delays
India
After being stuck since mid-March because of the West Asia conflict, a urea vessel has started sailing via the Strait of Hormuz and is heading to India's east coast.
This long-awaited shipment is part of an import deal set up back in February and marks the first breakthrough after 16 fertilizer vessels were delayed.
Ship carries 3.3 lt urea
The ship is carrying 3.3 lt of urea, expected to arrive in 7-9 days: good news for meeting fertilizer needs during the busy farming season.
Seven more urea vessels are set to leave soon, adding to imports since March that already total nearly 2.2 million tons.
Plus, thanks to recent government deals, India is now getting urea at much lower prices than earlier this year.
