India
FSSAI just wrapped up a massive inspection across India, checking out more than 56,000 food joints.
The result? 1,133 food licenses were suspended and 10,047 places got improvement notices. They also seized unsafe food worth ₹81.80 crore, pretty serious stuff.
This move shows FSSAI is stepping up to make sure what we eat is actually safe.
FSSAI takes action against 410 violators
Working with state teams, FSSAI sealed 314 places and canceled another 52 licenses. They have even started legal action against 410 violators.
Out of 43,939 food samples collected during the drive, 2,273 didn't meet safety standards, so they are not messing around when it comes to protecting public health.
