FSSAI names brands for misleading food advertising and claims
FSSAI just named and shamed several food brands for breaking advertising rules, mainly for making claims that don't add up or could confuse shoppers.
Pluckk got flagged for saying its mango juice has "No Added Sugar" even though it contains sugarcane juice, while a paneer brand was caught calling itself Natural Paneer without meeting the standards.
Kinder Joy's "Rich in Milk Solids" and Saffola Total's health-focused marketing also didn't pass the test.
Notices over unproven claims and hygiene
Brands like Medizen Labs, Nexa Industries, and MasterChow Foods Pvt Ltd were pulled up for unproven product claims.
Plus, following a consumer complaint on social media alleging a staff member was consuming food inside a service or kitchen area during operational hours, Bikanervala received a notice about hygiene issues and Param Dairy Limited was noticed over allegations of fungal contamination in dahi and rabri supplied through IRCTC catering services.
All these companies have been told to fix things fast to stay on the right side of food safety rules.
