'Gigolo Job' scam uncovered in Delhi
Delhi cyber police have arrested two men, Himanshu (25) and Vishal (19), for running a fake "gigolo job" scheme.
They lured a 27-year-old shoe salesman from Delhi's Inderlok with online ads promising high-paying jobs involving visits to female clients, then kept asking him for payments—like registration fees and hotel bookings—but never offered any real work.
After losing ₹27,135, the victim reported the scam through the National Cyber Crime Portal, sparking a police investigation.
Accused thought they could get away easily
Both accused admitted they targeted men who might feel too embarrassed to complain.
Himanshu said he copied this trick after being scammed himself two years ago; Vishal joined in to pay off debts.
Police tracked them down using technical surveillance even though they tried hiding their identities and switching off phones.
Officers seized four phones and two SIM cards during the arrest, wrapping up the case under Inspector Sandeep Panwar's team.
