Goa's voter list gets a major clean-up: 90,000 issues found
Goa just did a deep dive into its voter list and found about 90,000 problems—think duplicate entries, people who've moved away, or even names of those who've passed on.
This Special Intensive Revision (SIR), which kicked off in early November, is all about making sure only eligible voters are on the rolls.
Why should you care?
With over 10.5 lakh forms already filled out and most digitized, Goa's aiming for a much cleaner and fairer voting process.
If you're a Goan voter or know someone who's missed out before (especially since 2002), there's still time to check your status or appeal after the draft list goes public on December 9, until February 7, 2026.
Plus, those caught with duplicate registrations could actually face jail time—so it pays to keep things legit!
This whole effort is about making future elections more transparent and trustworthy for everyone.
