GRSE delivers 3 warships to Indian Navy in historic handover
The Indian Navy just got a power boost with three new ships, INS Dunagiri, INS Sanshodhak, and INS Agray, all delivered together by GRSE on March 30, 2026.
This marks the first time one shipyard has handed over three different classes of warships at once, all part of India's push for homegrown defense tech.
Distinct ship roles and domestic content
Each ship brings something unique: INS Dunagiri is a frigate loaded with BrahMos missiles and advanced radar for multi-domain missions; INS Sanshodhak is built for deep-sea surveys and disaster relief; and INS Agray hunts submarines in shallow waters.
With approximately 88% made-in-India parts, INS Agray shows how serious India is about building its own defense strength.
As Commodore PR Hari, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of GRSE, put it, "We call this delivery historic, because it's the first time in the history of India that three warships of three different projects are being delivered to the Indian Navy. Same customer, same shipyard, but three different warships of three different classes."
