Gujarat: Massive mob attacks officials over forest land row, 47 injured

India

On Saturday in Padaliya village (Banaskantha), about 500 locals attacked police, forest, and revenue officials during a government plantation drive.
The clash, which officials described as a pre-planned attack related to a long-standing forest land dispute, involved stone-pelting and even bows and arrows.

What happened next?

Forty-seven people were hurt, including a police inspector who suffered serious arrow injuries. Most are stable after treatment at local hospitals.
The mob also set government vehicles on fire.
Police have now locked down the area, brought in extra forces, and started searching for those behind the violence as the investigation continues.
