Guwahati man poisons wife for extramarital affair
In Guwahati, Pankaj Narzary, 37, allegedly murdered his wife Rupali Musahari, 32, by secretly mixing poison into her multivitamins over several days in June.
Investigators say his motive was to keep an affair going with a grocery shop owner nearby.
While Rupali was being poisoned, Narzary often left her alone and later told her family she was just unwell.
Rupali had once tried for divorce
Police stepped in when Narzary tried to cremate Rupali without a postmortem.
Forensic tests confirmed she died from poisoning—there were no visible injuries.
Officers found several bottles of poison at their home and detained Narzary; he's confessed but is awaiting formal arrest pending toxicology results.
It also came out that Rupali had once tried for divorce but withdrew under pressure, and that Narzary had previously threatened her with poisoning.
The investigation continues as police gather more evidence.
