Heavy rain disrupts life in Gurugram
Gurugram and parts of Delhi-NCR got hit with heavy rain on Tuesday, leading to flooded roads like the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway and Sector 10A Huda market.
The IMD has put out a red alert for thunderstorms, hail, and strong winds up to 70km/h.
Some areas saw rainfall as high as 41mm, which caused traffic chaos and left cars partly underwater.
Same problems repeat every year
Waterlogging is nothing new for Gurugram—old drainage systems and poor upkeep mean flooding happens almost every year.
The city's municipal teams are working at 138 trouble spots before monsoon hits, but locals are still pretty fed up with seeing the same problems repeat.
What authorities are doing
Authorities are building new stormwater drains and carrying out efforts to help water flow better.
Plus, new measures are going in across the city in hopes of finally easing those urban floods.
