Heavy rains flood Mangaluru city areas

Mangaluru was hit hard by incessant rain on Saturday, leaving key spots like Pumpwell, Attavar, and Kudroli underwater. The city's main business area struggled too, with the railway station and parking lots flooded. Major roads were blocked, so traffic barely moved at busy junctions like Pumpwell and Bendoorwell.

Neerumarga received 121mm rainfall in 8 hours

Neerumarga got the heaviest downpour—121mm in just eight hours. In Attavara, a collapsed wall made flooding worse by blocking drains. Fire crews had to evacuate people from badly affected neighborhoods like Kodialgutt. Flooded underpasses near Mangaluru Junction and Padil stopped vehicles completely, while heavy rain also hit nearby areas in Bantwal taluk.
