Honeymoon murder: Sonam and accomplices in police custody
Sonam Raghuvanshi and four others have been placed in eight-day police custody for allegedly murdering her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, during their honeymoon in Meghalaya. The couple from Indore went missing on May 23; Raja's body was found days later in a gorge near Sohra. Sonam was caught in Uttar Pradesh after her brother Govind informed the police following a call he received from her before she surrendered.
Sonam lured Raja to secluded spot, confessed killing him
Police say Sonam confessed to plotting Raja's murder with her boyfriend Raj Kushwaha, hiring contract killers who tracked and killed Raja during the trip. She reportedly lured Raja to a secluded spot under the pretense of visiting Kamakhya Temple. Investigators are using CCTV footage to piece together what happened. Meanwhile, Sonam's brother Govind has publicly cut ties with her and apologized to Raja's family, saying, "I will fight for justice for Raja."
