Hooghly minor accused of throwing newborn from nursing home window

In Hooghly, West Bengal, a 16-year-old girl has been accused of throwing her newborn out of a nursing home bathroom window, leading to the baby's death.
She was admitted with severe stomach pain and reportedly gave birth alone in the bathroom on Saturday morning after her abdominal pain intensified.
Police check CCTV, question family
A passerby found the infant outside the nursing home, which led to police getting involved.
Officers are now checking CCTV footage and talking to both the girl's parents and other family members.
The family says they didn't know she was pregnant, thinking it was just regular pain, but staff had their suspicions.
The investigation is ongoing, with an autopsy likely to be conducted for the baby.
