IMD issues yellow alert for Kerala Thursday, 64.5-115.5mm expected

The IMD has put out a yellow alert for heavy rain on Thursday across seven districts: Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, and Malappuram.
Expect scattered showers with rainfall between 64.5 and 115.5mm over the next day.
Ponnani recorded 160mm rainfall
This wet spell is thanks to a weather system stretching from north Tamil Nadu to Lakshadweep.
In the past day alone, Ponnani (Malappuram) got drenched with 160mm of rain while Pattambi (Palakkad) and Vadakkancherry (Thrissur) weren't far behind.
