IMD predicts extensive rainfall in Bengal this week

Heads up, West Bengal! The IMD says to expect a seriously rainy week ahead.
Heavy showers are set to hit southern districts like Hooghly, South 24 Parganas, Purba and Paschim Medinipur, Jhargram, Purulia, Bankura, and Bardhaman from June 25-27.
North Bengal spots—Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri, and Cooch Behar—are also on rain watch for June 25, 28 and 29.

TL;DR

Alert for local flooding, travel issues

Cooch Behar just clocked a whopping 227mm of rain in one day. With more downpours coming (and warnings out for places like Jalpaiguri), there's a real risk of local flooding and travel headaches.
The IMD's forecast suggests everyone—especially if you're traveling or living in these areas—should stay alert and prep for possible disruptions.
