IMD says northeast heavy rain until June 21, Delhi 40-42C
India
The weather's getting a bit wild this week: IMD says the northeast (think Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya) is in for heavy rain until June 21, while Bihar and West Bengal will see showers too.
Delhi and parts of northwest India can expect thunderstorms and gusty winds up to 60km per hour, but despite some rain, Delhi's temperatures are set to climb to a hot 40 to 42 Celsius by June 18.
Patchy rainfall, FAO warns crop stress
Mumbai will be sticky with light rain, Tamil Nadu and Kerala get heavy showers, but Telangana and Vidarbha might face heatwaves.
The slow monsoon means Maharashtra, Odisha, and Jharkhand will have to wait a few more days for steady rains.
Meanwhile, the FAO is worried that patchy rainfall could stress out key crops like rice and maize.
