IMD warns of heavy rainfall in south India; Delhi dry
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has put out a warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Mahe, Rayalaseema, Lakshadweep, and coastal Karnataka from October 19-25, 2025.
Kerala and Mahe could see the most intense downpours between October 19-20 and again from October 23-25.
Meanwhile, Delhi is enjoying warmer-than-usual temperatures, dry weather, and about 9 hours of sunshine each day.
Fishermen warned to stay safe, avoid going out
If you're in the south, expect wet days ahead—plus, the Bay of Bengal is set for squally winds that could hit up to 65km/h by October 24-25, so fishermen are being told to stay safe and avoid going out.
In Chennai, heavy rain is mixing with poor air quality (AQI at 131) and high humidity, making outdoor plans and commutes trickier than usual.
It's a good time to keep an eye on weather updates and plan ahead.
