Imphal protest demands justice after 6 Naga civilians found dead
Imphal saw a massive protest on Saturday as people marched four kilometers, calling for justice after six Naga civilians were allegedly abducted and later found dead.
Organized by the All Naga Students's Association Manipur (ANSAM), the rally urged both state and central governments to step up and take responsibility.
Victims reportedly kidnapped in Leilon Vaiphei
The victims were reportedly kidnapped from Leilon Vaiphei village in May and found dead nearly a month later.
ANSAM president Th Angteshang Maring said the State and central governments could not remain silent on the matter and must ensure that those responsible were brought to justice.
Tensions rose briefly when the convoy of former CM N Biren Singh passed through the North AOC area during the rally, before peacefully continuing their march.
