India asserts right to pre-emptive strikes against terrorism

India's Defense Minister Rajnath Singh told US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth that India will act first if terrorism comes from Pakistan.
He called the recent Operation Sindoor—a strike on terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir—"measured, non-escalatory, proportionate, and focused," while also pointing out that banned terrorists still find safe haven in Pakistan.

TL;DR

US defense gear delivery is also part of this call

This call wasn't just about security—it was also about teamwork.
Singh pushed for faster delivery of delayed US defense gear, like engines for Tejas fighter jets and Apache helicopters, which are key for keeping India's air force ready.
With growing defense ties between the two countries, getting this equipment on time matters for both fighting terrorism and keeping the region stable.
