India
With El Nino threatening to mess up the monsoon and put crops at risk, the Indian government is working with banks and insurers to give farmers a stronger financial safety net.
They're rolling out easier access to credit, expanding crop insurance through PMFSBY, and using satellite tech so claims get settled faster.
Government raises Kisan Credit Card ₹2L
The government is also updating its farm loan scheme, raising collateral-free loans under Kisan Credit Card to ₹2 lakh (with a total cap of ₹5 lakh) for 2025-26.
Plus, they're fixing issues like digitizing land records and bringing more non-borrower farmers under insurance.
