India temporarily blocks Telegram until June 22 2026 for NEET-UG
India
Telegram is temporarily blocked across India until June 22, 2026, just as the NEET-UG re-exam approaches.
The government acted on the NTA's advice to help prevent cheating and fake paper leaks since earlier efforts to shut down scam channels didn't work.
The Ministry of Electronics and IT made the call after repeated issues with exam fraud.
NTA flags fake exam paper channels
NTA flagged channels like "PAPER LEAKED NEET" and "Re-NEET 2026" for selling fake question papers, sometimes charging huge sums.
Officials stressed that no real exam papers are out there, calling these offers total scams.
As a last resort, even Telegram's message-editing feature is disabled nationwide until June 30 to keep things fair for all students.
