Indian Air Force to develop kamikaze drones with local firms
India
The Indian Air Force is partnering with Indian companies to build its own long-range kamikaze drones.
Instead of just buying from others, the IAF will help design and develop these drones from scratch, a big step toward making India more self-reliant in defense tech.
IAF keeps design rights, domestically built
These one-way attack drones can fly up to 16,000 feet and carry at least 30kg of gear, handling missions like precision strikes and data relay on their own with minimal human input.
Plus, the IAF will keep all rights to the drone designs, so they can upgrade them any time without outside help.
Everything is being designed, developed and manufactured in India, with preference for indigenous components and systems: no Chinese parts allowed.
