Indian Railways is stepping up for the festival season with a new "war room" that tracks live crowd levels at 28 busy stations.
To keep things moving, more than 18,000 extra trains are being added this year, way more than last year's 12,000, thanks to new tracks and extra stops aimed at making travel smoother for everyone.
