India's IAF launched Operation Sindoor after Pahalgam attack killing 26
After the tragic Pahalgam terror attack in April 2025, which claimed 26 lives, India launched Operation Sindoor in early May.
Over four intense days , the IAF struck key Pakistani military sites, aiming to disrupt their air operations and send a clear message.
IAF struck Pakistani airbases and defenses
The IAF took out aircraft hangars at Jacobabad and Murid, damaged runways at Sargodha and Rahim Yar Khan, and dealt a major blow to Pakistan's air defense network at Chaklala.
An S-400 unit successfully targeted and destroyed a Pakistani special-mission aircraft from a distance of 314km.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Air Force Station Adampur, where he personally commended the Air Warriors. Later, 219 IAF personnel were honored with Presidential Gallantry Awards for their bravery during the operation.
