India's LNG imports heavily rely on Qatar, UAE
India relies a lot on imported liquefied natural gas (LNG), especially from Qatar and the UAE, with most of it coming through the Strait of Hormuz.
But rising tensions between Iran and Israel have made this route risky, raising real worries about possible disruptions.
Since Qatar supplies over 40% of India's LNG, any trouble here could hit India hard.
Asia's LNG prices jump 11%
Just the fear of disruption has already pushed Asian LNG prices up by 11%, with QatarEnergy even telling tankers to wait before entering the Gulf.
To avoid getting caught off guard, India is now buying more LNG from places like the US and Australia.
Oil Minister Hardeep Puri says the government is "keeping a close watch" to make sure India's energy needs stay covered, showing how seriously they're taking these global uncertainties.
