India's PM Modi at G-7 in France outlines AI vision
At the G-7 summit in France, Prime Minister Modi laid out India's vision for making AI safe and fair for everyone.
He said AI should help people, not just power up machines, and suggested four big steps: building secure AI systems, developing common standards, testing frameworks and regulatory sandboxes so that innovation and governance progress together, working together to fight deepfakes, misinformation and cyber fraud, and making sure the benefits of AI reach countries of the Global South and access to AI technologies must also be broad and inclusive.
Modi urges child protection, responsible tech
Modi also called for strong protection for children against risks like misinformation and exploitation from AI.
He highlighted India's push for responsible tech through efforts like the AI Impact Summit and MANAV Vision, and echoed the idea that human values and inclusivity should always come first when developing new technology.
