IndiGo cancels 34 flights, delays 18 at Chandigarh airport

India

Travel plans went sideways for many at Chandigarh Airport on Friday when IndiGo canceled 34 flights and delayed another 18 out of just 54 scheduled.
The worst hit was the Chandigarh-Indore route, which saw a massive nine-hour delay.

Passengers stranded and airfares skyrocket

With little notice or info about refunds or new bookings, passengers were left waiting in long lines—some even had their bags flown separately due to operational issues, according to Airport CEO Ajay Verma.
To make things tougher, ticket prices on other airlines spiked fast: a quick flight to Delhi jumped to ₹16,000 and Bengaluru tickets shot up to ₹65,000.
