IndiGo lavatory yields 24 gold biscuits worth ₹4cr today
Here's a wild one: 24 gold biscuits valued at ₹4 crore were discovered stashed inside a speaker box in the lavatory of an IndiGo plane at Ahmedabad Airport on June 16.
The stash was wrapped in black tape and completely missed by passengers, turning the aircraft itself into a smuggling container and exposing some serious security gaps.
Authorities probe IndiGo turnaround procedures
Authorities are now digging into how the gold got on board, focusing on the aircraft's turnaround time when crews handle cleaning, catering, baggage, and servicing.
Since these teams don't usually check hidden spots like lavatory panels (where the gold was found), officials likely had to dismantle parts of the bathroom to uncover it, possibly tipped off by intelligence or something unusual.
CCTV footage and logs are being reviewed.
