Jharkhand: Two CRPF personnel hurt in IED blasts during anti-Maoist ops

India

Two CRPF CoBRA jawans were injured on Sunday when hidden explosives went off during an anti-Maoist operation in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district.
The blasts happened in the Baliba forest, where Maoists had planted IEDs to target security teams searching the area.

Injured rushed for treatment, security review underway

Both injured personnel—head constable Alok Das and sepoy Narayan Das—were given first aid at a CRPF camp and then airlifted to Ranchi for hospital care.
Calling the attack an "act of desperation by the Maoists," Superintendent of Police Amit Renu said search operations have been stepped up in the region.
