Kancheepuram tops Ashley Madison 'Summertime Stealth Mode' May 2026 again
Kancheepuram, famous for its temples and silk sarees, has once again topped Ashley Madison's "Summertime Stealth Mode" rankings for May 2026, making it the Indian city with the most new sign-ups on the extramarital dating platform.
This is the second year in a row it's beaten bigger cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai.
Coimbatore and Tiruvallur also landed in the top five.
India 3rd on Ashley Madison
India's global ranking on Ashley Madison jumped from eighth to third place this year, reflecting how ideas about privacy and relationships are changing fast, even outside metro cities.
As Paul Keable, Chief Strategy Officer at Ashley Madison, put it, "India's rise from eighth to third globally for membership sign-ups reflects a broader shift in how adults are approaching connection, privacy and personal autonomy," said Paul Keable, Chief Strategy Officer at Ashley Madison.
Meanwhile, platforms like Gleeden are seeing huge growth too; over 4 million users in India now, with a 2024 Gleeden survey showing more married Indians open to non-traditional relationships.
