The kidney transplant scam that was busted in Kanpur has now reached Meerut, putting a private hospital on Garh Road in the spotlight.
The chief medical officer has given the hospital three days to explain its alleged links with those arrested in Kanpur.
Otherwise, it could lose its license and face legal action.
Meerut hospital denies involvement, police probe
Meerut police visited the hospital and collected details from the management, with a team from Kanpur on its way to join the probe.
While the hospital insists it is not involved and says it is cooperating fully, authorities are checking if its facilities were used for illegal transplants.
What began with six arrests in Kanpur now involves several doctors from Meerut too.
