Kerala budget by V D Satheesan prioritizes ports, metros, aviation
Kerala's new budget is all about building up the state, literally.
Chief Minister V D Satheesan, who is also holding the finance portfolio, just announced big investments in transport and connectivity, with a focus on making it easier to get around and boosting the economy.
Think port-development projects, metro lines, and plans to turn Kerala into a major aviation hub.
Kerala allocates 400cr to Mission Samudra
Mission Samudra gets ₹400 crore to link up Kerala's entire coastline with seaports and boost tourism.
There's also money for a Southern Kerala Economic Corridor (₹50 crore) to connect cities like Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, and Alappuzha as one economic zone.
Light Metro projects in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode are moving forward with ₹20 crore for studies, while ₹200 crore aims to put Kerala on the aviation map.
Urban growth isn't left out either—₹100 crore will go toward better city transport and waste management systems.
