Kerala budget launches Vision 2036 to groom Olympians with 173.77cr
Kerala's new budget has rolled out "Vision 2036," a big push to get state athletes ready for the 2036 Olympics.
The plan focuses on spotting talent early, giving pro-level training, and sending athletes to compete nationally and internationally.
Sports and youth welfare got ₹173.77 crore this year, with ₹50 crore set aside for a new international stadium in Malabar that will also feature a football academy.
Kothamangalam stadium and mandatory college sports/NCC
The budget also backs another international stadium in Kothamangalam, aiming to give young athletes better facilities and more chances to compete.
Plus, Kerala is making sports or NCC participation mandatory in colleges, not just for fitness, but also as a way to tackle drug abuse on campuses.
Schools are getting retired coaches and dedicated funds to weave sports into daily learning too.
